Homeschool Discounts Worth Knowing About

Some educator discounts include homeschool families, and some do not. We checked each offer below on the provider’s official website and noted what it is, who qualifies, how to use it, and any important limits. Every entry was checked on October 23, 2026. Terms can change, so please confirm the details with the provider before you buy.

Ongoing discounts and programs

Every Kid Outdoors: a free pass for fourth graders

• What it is: A free annual pass to national parks, lands, and waters.
• Who qualifies: U.S. fourth-grade students, or the home-school equivalent.
• How to get it: Visit the Every Kid Outdoors website with your fourth grader, complete the short activity, and print the paper pass. A digital pass is available through Recreation.gov.
• Good to know: The current pass covers the 2026–2027 school year and expires August 31, 2027. At sites that charge per person, it admits all children under 16 and up to three adults. At sites that charge per vehicle, it admits everyone in one private vehicle. It does not cover parking, camping, boats, or special tours, and most state and local parks do not accept it. Electronic copies of the paper pass are not accepted.

Apple Education Pricing

• What it is: Education pricing on select Apple products.
• Who qualifies: Apple’s U.S. education pricing policy lists homeschool teachers among eligible K–12 educators.
• How to get it: Shop Apple’s Education Store online or visit an Apple Store. Apple may ask for additional qualifying information before processing an order.
• Good to know: Annual limits apply, such as one Mac desktop, one MacBook, two iPads, and two accessories per year. Not every product has education pricing. Purchases are for personal use, not resale, and Apple may audit orders and charge the price difference if eligibility requirements are not met.

Michaels Teacher Discount

• What it is: 15% off your entire purchase, including sale items, in store and online.
• Who qualifies: Michaels’ coupon policy includes teachers who work in home schools.
• How to get it: Enroll through your Michaels Rewards account and complete educator verification. Michaels uses a third party and may ask for a document showing your name, your school, and your current teaching status. A valid educator ID allows the discount on three purchases while verification is pending.
• Good to know: Valid only in the U.S. Exclusions include clearance items, custom framing, books and magazines, classes, gift cards, and craft technology machines, among others listed in the policy.
