How do I know whether my child is making progress?

Look for growth in skills, not only completed assignments. Once a month, save a dated sample: a short writing piece, a few math problems, or a note about reading. Compare it with last month. Is the work more accurate or more independent? Write down one improvement and the next skill you plan to teach. If progress stalls, check that specific skill before adding more work or changing curriculum.
